Ramstein - Air Base Documentary & Exhibition CenterThe exhibition chronicles the little known history of the experience of African-American GIs in Germany and the significance of their deployment for the advancement of the civil rights movemnet in the U.S. It presents the first results of a joint research initiative of the German Historical Institute, Washington DC, Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY), and the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) at the University of Heidelberg in cooperation with the Docu Center Ramstein.
