About Soul of the City
Soul of the City is a leadership program geared toward the development of D.C. youth as tomorrow’s leaders and community innovators. Soul of the City is designed to guide young adults to take pride in their neighborhoods and their city and to be informed, confident and able to speak out as community leaders.
The program is a week-long, intensive exploration by Washington, D.C. students and their environment. It has evolved into a 2-tiered academy where experience Soul of the City alumni begin research and leadership development months in advance.
Incoming students (aged 14-18) are then guided by their peers and by humanities experts to explore the various themes throughout the week.
